Jaco

Jaco is the backbone of development and tourism on the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica. It is very near the capital of San Jose, and from the San Juan airport of Santa María, one of the new open road in 2010, making it an easy walk of one hour 15 minutes from the coast.

Jaco has always been known as a surf town and has a reputation for being a fun, party town full of restaurants, bars, and clubs to choose from, but it has so much more to offer. It is ideal for you to plan your vacation.

It has plenty of accommodation options to suit every budget, from cabins to condos to 15-bedroom houses. There are several large supermarkets in the area, carrying more than many American brands that are familiar.

Most activities in Jaco focus on the main street, a block from the beach, with shops, restaurants, and bars. There are many excellent restaurants to choose from, all kinds of food Offing; Tico traditional fast food called “sodas” to sushi, wine bars, sports bars, and fine dining establishments.

There are many tours and activities to do, based in and around Jaco surf, Atv quad, kayaking, bungee jumping, horse riding, visits to waterfalls, nature tours, rent bikes, hiking through the jungle, Spas, Yoga, or just relax on the beach.

It is a short taxi ride of 10 minutes to the station and the Marina Los Sueños in Herradura downtown Jaco Bay.

Herradura Bay

Herradura is located a few miles from Jaco on the road to San Jose.
A small town, across the main road from the coast and the beach road of Herradura Bay and Los Suenos Marina. There is a large shopping center at the intersection with a grocery Automercado- USA style with the selection of food is excellent and the American brands, Pharmacy, Radio Shack, Subway, Pizza Hut, and popsicles, on the beach you will find a wide range of fishing charters can go anywhere from a panga to 55ft party yacht  which will take up to 30 people for a day cruise

Los Sueños Resort and Marina

Dreams are located in the Bay of Heredurra just a couple of miles from Jaco. Los Sueños Resort and Marina opened in 1999, revolutionizing the Central Pacific of Costa Rica. It is considered the first marina resort worldwide.

Anchored in the Los Suenos Marriott and surrounded by a tropical forest reserve of 700 hectares, is a very well-maintained community, senior condominiums, villas, and planned private houses. It has an area of wet skid Iguana 220 and 100 dry marina, shops and restaurants slip Marina Village. ranging from sushi, Italian, and classic American food sports bar. Be sure to check the gourmet shop for Jimmy t pre-cooked, imported cheese, meat, and American brands to cook meals in your condo.

The Marriott Los Suenos offers several other excellent varieties of interesting restaurants for a wide selection of dining options.

Hermosa Beach

Playa Hermosa is located in the south of Jaco Los Sueños front. It is very quiet eight miles long, black sand beach, and much less developed than Jaco and Los Suenos. No skyscrapers or soveigner tourist shops, several small hotels, condominiums and restaurants. Beautiful provides faster exchange rate applied. We know of some of the most consistent waves in Costa Rica, and has a different relaxed, calm and uncrowded feeling Jacobian. It’s an incredible place to plan a relaxing day at the beach.

Most of the action centers around the hotel Backayard & Bar, and Cabinas Los Olas. Backyard Features wendsday ladies night at night and surf contest Saturday afternoon followed by live music.

Esterillos Beach

A small fishing village 20 minutes south of Jaco, grows slowly, but decades behind Jaco. A popular surf spot and a great place to spend an afternoon on a quiet beach with lots of colorful macaws. At low tide, explore the tide pools for fish and starfish, or take a ride on horseback through the mountains and along the beach.
Quepos

An old bannana commercial port about an hour south of Jaco. There is a new marina under construction, but the development is about a decade behind dreams. The town of Quepos is pretty run down.
Manuel Antonio

The saving grace of the Quepos area. Manuel Antonio is the most beautiful national parks in Costa Rica, full of monkeys, sloths and other wildlife; miles of trails to choose from and some beaches for relaxing, well worth a day trip for a walk in the park, and perhaps spend a morning rafting.
